Equipment and Prostheses

Cancer-related surgery may result in a need for special equipment or prostheses.  These services supply aids that can be purchased or borrowed, to assist with daily living (lymphadema sleeves, walkers, bedpans, commodes, hospital beds, crutches, scooters, canes, etc) and devices to improve the appearance or function of a body part altered or lost due to cancer (breast prosthesis, laryngectomy aids, orthotics, ostomy, artificial limbs).

Mobility aids and lymphedema sleeves can be requisitioned by Occupational and Physical Therapists by contacting Therapies departments / clinics in Arcola, Bengough, Coronach, Estevan, Kipling, Oxbow, Redvers and Weyburn.

Palliative equipment and supplies may be available through the Regional Home Care Offices listed under Home Care Services in this directory.
