A bit of Saskatchewan history
Lampman, Saskatchewan was founded in 1910 and became a town in 1963. It was named after a Canadian poet, Archibald Lampman, whose more famous works include "Among the Millet" and "Lyrics of Earth."
Lampman is also famous for a 1,024 page book that was published in 1981, entitled, "Poet's Corner: A History of Lampman and District and the R.M. of Browning."
The town's economic base is the oil industry and the Steelman gas plant.
