New members appointed to Sun Country Regional Health Authority

The President and CEO of Sun Country Health Region is pleased to welcome three new members to the Sun Country Regional Health Authority (SCRHA), the governing body of the Region.

Marga Cugnet says the Leadership team at Sun Country Health Region is looking forward to working with the new members of the RHA.

“The RHA has operated with only six members for quite some time. It will be helpful to have a larger complement of members, as well as the different perspectives that come from different areas of the Region.”

New members of the Sun Country Regional Health Authority are Marilynn Garnier, Vice Chair, Redvers; Brian Romaniuk, Carlyle; Leigh Rosengren, Midale.

Romaniuk is a General Contractor, Carpenter and Alderman on Carlyle Town Council. He is particularly interested in facility use and the governing of health care. Rosengren is a self-employed veterinary epidemiologist and cattle producer who believes serving on the RHA is an opportunity to understand how health care decisions are made and to gain the experience of working on a large governing authority.  Marilynn Garnier has recently retired as CEO of the Redvers Activity Centre, a program for adults with developmental disabilities. She has always been interested in health care governance and wants to learn how health decisions are made while contributing to the Region’s governance.

RHA members who were reappointed to the next term are Marilyn Charlton, Chair, Weyburn; Robert Brickley, Kennedy; Derrell Rodine, Weyburn; Karen Stephenson, Weyburn; Gary St. Onge, Estevan.

RHA members are appointed by the Lieutenant Governor-in-Council. Each member is appointed holds office for a term of three years and thereafter until the member is reappointed or the appointment is cancelled. The Lieutenant Governor-in-Council designates the Chair and the Vice-Chair.
The next public session of the Sun Country Regional Health Authority will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2015.
