Public meetings in SCHR are valuable opportunity

Members of Sun Country Regional Health Authority met with municipal officials and the public at two public meetings during October to discuss health care issues in this health region.

“There was a very good attendance at the Kenosee Lake meeting and a smaller group in Weyburn,” says Marilyn Charlton, Chair of Sun Country Regional Health Authority (SCRHA).

“Regardless of the numbers that attend, we consider these meetings to be a very important opportunity for the public to learn more about what’s happening in Sun Country Health Region and to talk informally with RHA members. We value the chance to hear feedback from the public at this forum. ”

Information about palliative care services for those with a chronic illness and an update on the Lean management system was provided at the two meetings by Region staff.

President and CEO Marga Cugnet also provided a brief explanation of the strategic improvement projects adopted by the Region this year.

Meetings of the Region’s Community Leadership Network have been held each spring and fall for the past three years. The next sessions, in two different locations, will be announced in the spring of 2015.
