Student Education Bursaries 

Qualified Health Discipline students can apply for up to $20,000, over four years, in educational bursaries from Sun Country Health Region.   

Bursaries of up to $5,000 per student year for a maximum 2 years return-for-service agreement (full time equivalent) are available for the following hard-to-recruit disciplines: 

• Physician (See Below)
• Registered Nurse
• Registered Psychiatric Nurse
• Licensed Practical Nurse
• Pharmacist
• Physical Therapist
• Occupational Therapist
• Speech Language Pathologist
• Medical Lab Technologist

Medical Student Bursaries

Qualified Medical students can apply for up to $100,000, over four years, in educational bursaries from Sun Country Health Region. The bursaries are in exchange for a return for service agreement up to four years.

Bursaries of up to $25,000 per student year for a maximum 2 years return-for- service agreement (full time equivalent) are available for the following hard-to-recruit discipline: 

• Medical Student

SCHR Relocation Grants

 Funding is available to new employees in hard-to-recruit professions that relocate to the Sun Country Health Region. The terms are up to $5,000 for 2 year return- for-service agreement (full time equivalent).

Professional groups qualifying are:

• Physician 
• Registered Nurse 
• Registered Psychiatric Nurse 
• Licensed Practical Nurse 
• Nurse Manager 
• Pharmacist 
• Physical Therapist 
• Occupational Therapist 
• Speech Language Pathologist 
• Electrician 
• Refridgeration Mechanic 
• Plumber 
• Health Information Management Practitioner 

 Process to apply for a relocation grant:

• Negotiate terms with Facility Manager.
• Forward receipts to Facility Manager for processing.
